There has never been a more exciting—or challenging—time to be a leader in the consulting industry. Even before the COVID-19 crisis, the consulting industry was in the middle of a period of profound change; the boundaries between consulting, technology, and other categories of professional services were breaking down, to the point where some even questioned whether the term “consulting” was still a relevant one. The pandemic is only serving to amplify the impact of those changes, while also adding an additional layer of complexity to the challenges that leaders of consulting firms face.
This is the second in a two-part report series, created in partnership with Source Global, that explores how consulting firms are rethinking what it means to be a partner—and how those partners can best be empowered to provide meaningful leadership at a time of profound change. This report builds on the first report, by examining the evolution of the partnership itself, and the ways in which the partners of tomorrow will look, act, and think differently from their predecessors.
